What is User Feedback?
User Feedback is a comment left by a buyer for a seller (and vice versa). It is meant to be an emotionless statement on how the transaction went, whether good or bad.
What is the little number by my name, and when will it change?
When you are looking through the auctions, you will notice that each user has a number by his name. This number signifies that user's rating at the auction.
When a feedback comment is left for a user, it can be either positive, neutral or negative. Each type of comment carries it's own score. Positive is a one, neutral is zero, and negative is -1. Add all the comments and numbers up and you arrive at the user's feedback rating. For your own feedback rating to change, another eggbid member has to leave a feedback comment for you.
Does Feedback have to relate to a transaction?
Yes, it does. When leaving feedback it has to be tied to a transaction that took place at the auction. It can't be from any sale or trade that happens outside of eggbid.
How Do I Leave Feedback for someone?
The easiest way to leave feedback at eggbid is to follow the link at the bottom of any eggbid page that says Leave Feedback on a User.
Once at that page, you can fill in the necessary fields and click on "Leave Comment".
Please be sure to leave only one feedback comment per transaction. Leaving more than one comment constitutes feedback abuse and can result in suspension from the auction.
What if I don't remember the seller/buyer's name?
If you don't know the seller/buyer's username, you can follow the link at the bottom of any eggbid page to your "Personal Page".
Once there, enter your User ID and Password and select "Next".
One the next page, select the link to "View Your Bidding History". Once there, you will see a list of auctions you've bid on at eggbid and should be able to easily find the auction/person you want to leave feedback for.
You can click on the number beside the the user's name and it will take you directly to the user's "Feedback Profile". Now you can just follow the directions above.
Why do I care about feedback?
When users are shopping at eggbid, they lean very heavily on a seller's feedback. The sheer number isn't always the selling point. A user can have a high number but also have a good number of negative or neutral comments to go along with it. A lot of times, a similar or like item is offered by another user with a much better feedback rating. That may be where you want to do your buying.
By leaving honest feedback on users, it gives the entire community a sense of who they should or should not be dealing with. It helps us all, and makes the auction a safer place.
What type of feedback should I leave?
If a buyer doesn't pay for an auction, or a seller doesn't deliver the item they've sold, that's a perfect instance for a negative. The key is to be fair. Things happen in life that can take a buyer or seller away from the computer. A sickness, injury, computer problems, it all happens. A negative comment should only be left when all else fails, including contacting Customer Service about the transaction.
If you simply are not happy with the speed of delivery or quality of the item, perhaps a neutral is in order. Leaving a neutral comment is much less drastic, but should still only be left after contacting the buyer or seller to see if they will make good.
Remember to make sure when you leave negative or neutral feedback that you've done absolutely everything humanly possible to work things out. It can't be removed and will be there for all to see. You don't want to feel bad later that you've tarnished someone's reputation when it could have been avoided.
