1. Notify the shipper when & how the
package arrived.
2. Purchaser should already have their
incubator running or broody setting BEFORE the hatching eggs arrive.
3. Save any & all shipping papers for
future reference.
4. Hatching eggs should be settled upon
arrival. This is best done by allowing
them to settle for about 24 hours under "ideal storage"
conditions. 45*-55* temperature, Humidity about 75% & the egg tray tipped at an angle of
about 45*-55*...turned at least twice a day to keep the yolk & embryo from
sticking to one side of the egg.
5. After this 24 hour period eggs should be
moved to a warming area. Temperature
about 70*-80*, room temperature for about 4 hours so the eggs won't experience
such a shock when they placed in an incubator or under a broody which will be
about 100*.
6. Set the eggs, Mark one's calendar & hope
for the BEST!
7. At about 7 days of incubation check &
candle the eggs. Make notes what stage
of developement the embryos are in, if any died- at about what stage, if any
appear infertile & etc. Be sure to
REMOVE any eggs with dead embryos or any that appear unfertile, as they can
ooze &/or explode & contaminate the other eggs.
